Nydree Flooring is an innovative floorings solutions company.

The Brief

Nydree was looking for classic packaging for their floor samples—something that incorporated pattern and simple typography. The packaging would be sealed with a branded tape and include a notecard to place on top of its contents.

Additionally, the company wanted a product booklet that captured the clean and refined brand identity they were cultivating. The booklet included the story of the company along with its offerings.

Packaging design

Campfire, a marketing brand I work alongside, first sent along a design board, giving me some broad vision casting for the design.

After creating pattern and pulling together a concept, I began designing through mockups to give the client an idea of how the design would sit on the box. I began creating on 2d artboards, then transferred the work to 3d mockups early on to provide clarity for the client.

The card and tape design flowed from the box design, carrying the pattern and typography into other print elements.

The starkness of the dark green against the white contrasted the dark green of the box interior. Conversely, creating a box-colored tape added a subtle detail without adding busyness to the design.

It’s always rewarding to see a project all the way through. The client uses this box for all samples and has carried the pattern design on the outside of the box into email marketing and social media design.

Product Booklet

The product booklet carried on the same wood grain design on the box, creating cohesion in their new identity assets.

I prioritized white space and rich photography in the booklet, allowing the product to shine and giving a concise overview of Nydree’s range of products.
