The Brief
Nat and Alex were releasing new music and were looking for a lyric video to put on Youtube and socials for their song If I’m Gonna Die. The release of the album this single was included on was kicked off by an exclusive concert for fans at Rockwood Music Hall in New York. They decided to print a small batch of posters for this event, looking for a poster to celebrate the album, Table for Two.

Lyric video
The lyric video was created for a song called If I’m Gonna Die, a pop track with a darker subject matter. I liked the idea of incorporating skulls, a currently popular motif in culture, but contrasting what could be taken in a dark direction with bright pops of color.
The final video was a loop of both of the early videos with added illustration to their clothing and patterns in the backgrounds. The video editor who put together the footage also added lyrics and filters to the video.
Event poster
Playing off the title Table for Two, I began playing around with an abstract “table” with 2 chairs. By combining text, image, and form, a 3 color screenprinted poster idea was formed.
We ultimately wanted the colors to coordinate with the lyric video above. Nat and Alex also wanted an ampersand between their names and preferred the more organic spiral in the center of the artwork.
